Puppy thrown from cliff

I know it's old news, but Lance Corporal David Motari, the evil vile bastard that threw a puppy off a cliff and recorded it, was punished today. I'm sure it wasn't any real form of punishment, like throwing him off a cliff or breaking his knee-caps. He should have been given a firm talking to and then thrown off a cliff so he could think about it on the way down, and his buddy, Sergeant Crismarvin Banez Encarnacion should be forced to watch and clean-up the mess.

Baby steps

Well, although my intial prediction to the reaction of Hillary supporters was correct. I, and many others may have over-estimated the amount of Hillary supporters that we thought would refuse to support Obama.

Since Hillary's speech on Saturday, many of her supporters have still continued their spiteful and hateful attacks on Obama, but many other's have listened and taken to heart what Hillary said. Many "pro-Hillary" sites have endorsed Obama, and some have just shut-down altogether. There are also many new groups on facebook and myspace of Hillary supporters now working on behalf of Obama. Also, CNN reported that in a new polling, Latinos are voting for Obama 62% to McCain's 29%. So things aren't as split as was first thought (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/06/08/navarrette/index.html).

I think as time goes on, and the bitterness errodes, more & more Hillary supporters will see the light and realize that Hillary was right - John McCain can not be allowed to win the White House. They'll realize that voting against Obama or not voting at all is just cutting off thier nose to spite their face, and in the end they'll only be hurting themselves.

But baby steps will have to be made to bring Hillary supporters in the fold and to show them that we are, or at least should be, united. Will all of them join us? Of course not, but we'll see in the end that the majority will. Many already have.

Right once again

I pretty much knew that so-called Hillary "supporters" weren't going to listen to her. Yesterday, Hillary made, what her campaign chairman called "her best speech ever" and endorsed Barack Obama. It didn't do a bit of good. It came far too little and far too late. People listened to her speech, cried, and then went home and ignored everything that she had said. Already, her supporters are on blogs, continuing to support McCain, even though this is the man that is trying to destroy everything that Hillary has worked for throughout her career. The point I've been making over and over again on various blogs, is that these people are no-longer Clinton Supporters. They are anti-Obama, and there is an important distiction. Hillary has endorsed Obama. This means that she has publicly declaired her support of him. The are no longer opponents. She is working to help him become the next president. How then, can someone claim to support her while working against her goals? By definition, a supporter cannot work to undermine the work of the person they claim to support. They aren't supporting her because they are angry that she lost and have directed all of thier hate, rage and fustration on Obama. It's a text book example of cutting off your nose to spite your face. It's absurb, irrational and emotion-driven rather than based on reason. I think in a few months, many more of these people will stop thier support of McCain and you'll see more of these so-called "pro-Hillary" blogs disapear, but the hate they now feel will be replaced with disillusionment or retreatism, and I have doubts that they will recover by November. They won't vote for Obama, and won't regret what they have done until they see all the damage that McCain has caused. When that occurs, you'll see that all these people will have become silent because they won't want to be reminded of the mistake they made, and of all the harm they've done to themselve because they allowed hate to override thier thinking.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow Hillary will give her speech and endorse Obama. I predict that it won't do a bit of good. Months ago, party elders warned her that her campaign was becoming too negative and would hurt Obama's chances of winning in November if he won the nomination. Her response was that SHE was going to win so it didn't matter. Now her supporters HATE Obama. HATE! There is no use talking to them, or even trying to appeal to reason. It's irrational HATE based on lies, rumors, and hate filled blogs and emails (although in their minds it's all 100% true).

My guess is that when she makes her speech tomorrow, her so-called "supporters" will completely ignore what she has to say. Many will turn against her and say she's a sell-out or whatever. Some won't address anything she said at all like she never even made a speech and repeat the arguements they've been making over and over and over again as if it's going to convience anyone new that doesn't already believe it (it won't). Many will still push the whole "write-in Hillary" or "I'm voting for McCain" despite the fact that Hillary herself has clearly expressed how she felt about this.

I guess my point is: If Hillary can't get her own "supporters" to do what she says, how did these same people expect her to get the rest of the country to follow along? She would have made the best President, and yet no one does anything she says. Hmm... Those people with all the pro-Hillary blogs aren't going to listen to her. Because they never supported her in the first place. They weren't pro-Hillary. They were anti-Obama.

You can't say that you are pro-Hillary and then vote for McCain. You can't be pro-choice and vote pro-life anymore than you can claim to be a vegetarian while chopping down on a double whopper with extra bacon. Yet, reasonable people are supposed to believe that voting against the issues that Hillary stands for, is somehow supporting her or standing up for some moral cause.

Hate is exponentially more powerful than logic ever will be.

REAL change already!

Obama is not even president yet and he's already inacting REAL change!

"Our presumptive nominee has pledged not to take donations from Washington lobbyists and from today going forward the DNC makes that pledge as well," said Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean. "Senator Obama has promised to change the way things are done in Washington and this step is a sure sign of his commitment. The American people's priorities will set the agenda in an Obama Administration, not the special interests."

No more special interest groups can buy off Democrat votes! Now how is John McCain going to defend against that? He'll either have to make the same changes in the Republican Party (which would cripple them, no money from mega-corps?) or risk looking like Big Business owns the Republican Party (which they do).

McCain...good luck with that!

Obama is the Democratic Nominee - end of story.

There are still a lot of so-called Hillary supporters out there that are claiming that they will now vote for McCain. Really? How can you say that you supported Hillary and then turn around and vote for someone that goes against everything she's fought for? Did you support Hillary the woman or Hillary's principles? There is no way that any so-called Hillary supporter can justify voting for McCain if you really believed in Hillary. You weren't supporting Hillary; you were just anti-Obama. And you were anti-Obama because you chose to believe all the lies you heard about him, and now blinded by hate, you see what you want to see.

So if McCain is who you are going to vote for, if that's the future you want. Good luck with that!
